About The "Muskie Kid"
CPR: Catch ~ Photograph ~ Release
Caiden L. Ramsell "The Muskie Kid" comes from a long line of "muskie nuts"! He is the grandson of world renown author, guide, historian, and muskie mentor, Larry Ramsell.

Caiden began his pursuit of the elusive Esox as a teenager after a short fishing trip while his grandfather was visiting him in his home state of Illinois. They were fishing a strip mine lake in Central Illinois that is a part of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources stocking program. *Fun fact: Caiden's grandfather Larry, along with others, are, in part responsible for muskies being stocked in Illinois!
It was at this lake that Caiden hooked into his first muskie! Eventually losing the battle due to the fish biting through his line (they weren't even muskie fishing, so a leader wasn't in use!") Caiden got the "fever". Muskie Fever! It wasn't long after that and Caiden was headed to his grandfathers, in Hayward, Wisconsin, for hopefully another chance to battle one of these elusive fish. During this week long trip, Caiden, and his grandfather, boated several muskies, including a beautiful 42" muskie! (photo on home page)

Caiden, now an adult, with a family of his own, spends his free time pursuing muskies. He is a strong supporter of catch and release, often when asked about it saying, "dead fish don't grow". He also spends countless hours researching and studying to further his knowledge and to continue the Ramsell family legacy of providing accurate factual information on muskies, as well as being able to hopefully pass his love & knowledge of muskie hunting on to his two sons.

Caiden served on the board of directors for Muskies, Inc., National as the Vice President of Youth Activities.

Caiden also is a state representative of Pond Hopper Nation. Representing his home state of Illinois. Pond Hopper Nation's mission is to bring all Pond Hoppers together from beginners to Professionals, to educate & entertain, and share the love & passion of fishing to the World.
