St. Croix - Mojo Musky
The best fishing rods on the Earth? St. Croix hands down! After trying different rods by several manufacturers, I tried a St. Croix to see what the "hype" was. You always see the top pro's with a St. Croix. I thought maybe there is something to this. So I picked one up.
I looked at several different models, from the "low end" to the "high end". All of the rods felt great! Light weight, great finish, just all around awesome rods. As you go toward the "high end" rods, you notice more and more of the weight difference. Even holding an 8'6" rod feels like you are holding a pencil! Imagine an entire day of casting with that light of a rod. It makes a difference!
I picked up a mojo musky and let me tell you, FEAR THE PURPLE! This rod is light, strong, and very sharp, even being a male, you don't mind the rod being purple. Not that there is anything wrong with purple! At first, I didn't think I was going to like the split cork handle design. Boy was I wrong! I'll admit it took a bit of getting used to, but it feels great.
I "broke the rod in" a couple of days after I picked it up. Hooking and landing a Muskie of 34 inches. I even caught my largest bass ( 6lbs. 4oz. 21-1/2" in length) with it while muskie fishing. The rod performed flawlessly! There wasn't one thing I could find to complain about, and I am very critical of my equipment.
